Expecting God to Do Great Things!
On Thursday at 5:50 am, we head to Amsterdam and then travel on to Rwanda before reaching Kampala, Uganda. Each leg of the flight is about eight hours with a two-hour layover. Door-to-door it is about twenty-four hours.Pastor Elijah will meet us at the airport in Kampala for our 11 pm arrival. He’ll bring with him over one hundred people from the church and the two orphanages. It is the best reception ever. The reward for such a hard journey.
Surrendered to His Plan
We will gather in the airport parking lot. There, Kathy and I will receive a welcome message from each of the leaders of the ministry. We will then join hands and pray for our time in Uganda before loading up and heading to our hotel. We will be led by a police escort to ensure our quick and safe arrival.Kathy and I are at the point of surrender. We spent the year asking God for guidance on meaningful topics for this audience. He gave us bits and pieces, and we ran off willy nilly thinking, We’ve got it.Only to realize we have not “got it.” Suddenly we would feel anxious again. Every year the same cycle happens, and we eventually surrender and trust God, realizing He’s “got it.” This is where we are in preparation.In the meantime, we ask you to pray the following for us:
Uneventful and safe travel
Quick assimilation to the seven hour time difference
Clarity on our talk topics, messages, and personal stories
Security to ensure our safety for the trip
Energy…lots of energy
Come, Holy Spirit, Come
The conference begins on Monday, September 4th. At about 2 am Atlanta time, I’ll be presenting my first talk on “What it means to be a kingdom-minded entrepreneur.” As part of this talk, I’ll be sharing my testimony.I will invite these young men and women to give their lives to Christ. Pray for our Lord to break through the evil surrounding these young ones.If they come to Christ at the start, the rest of the messages will make an amazing difference in their lives.
