From co-founder to leader with Rob Forman - Video

Here is a recap of the Paparelli Zoom Chat for Entrepreneurs #24.
The theme was “From co-founder to leader with Rob Forman”
Special thanks to my guest Rob Forman, co-founder, president, and Chief Strategy Officer of SalesLoft.
Quote of the call: “Issues with my co-founder had more to do with me and my life experiences than with him.” Rob Forman.
9 key takeaways from this call:
- I am amazed again about timing in life. In this interview, the timing of Rob meeting Kyle, the timing of Bob Lewis coming in as a coach, Tom Noonan’s availability to join the board, the market lighting up. Timing. It is God and destiny
- Co-founders must leave room for individual and overlapping growth.
- There must be high trust in co-founders. The freedom to address the tough issues between you results in great strength.
- Self-awareness is the nourishment necessary for personal growth. Rob feeds his self-awareness by reading the Bible and business books. He is always seeking wisdom and ideas and discovering who he is and how he can apply what he learns.
- Great investors give advice but depend on the team for execution. Investors choose founders who can be trusted to execute.
- The co-founder’s role is to serve and support the CEO.
- Having the same coach for both founders proved to be a great success. The coach grew them individually and together.
- It is vitally important to have a regular “clear things” meeting. Speak what is bothering you about the other person or business and talk through it.
- Sales is a transfer of belief. (I really like this.)
